Although Chiquinho do Acordeom‘s discography is not yet completely uncovered and publicized, quite a lot of his career albums have been presented in this and the other parallel reality together with collaborations and participations on other musicians recordings.

Here is a repost from 2012 of his oldest album (a 10′) I have in my collection.

An informative text signed by Paulo Tapajos, about Chiquinho can be found and read on the back cover.

Another until now missing album from Chiquinho‘s discography: Valsas, Polcas e Outras Coisas from ’61 brought to us as courtesy of Pedro & 300discos.

The reform of Portuguese spelling in Brazil has multiplied the list of musicians in Brazil at least by two. A good example is Chiquinho do Acordeom, who became also another (additional) musician: Chiquinho do Acordeon (or was it vice-versa?).
Could it be that the secret meaning of two Chiquinhos on the front cover of this Lp is: Chiquinho do Acordeom and Chiquinho do Acordeon united on and for Odeon?

Note that the “do Acordeom/n is nowhere explicitly printed on the covers. It is just Chiquinho.

Altamiro Carrilho‘s Conjunto Brasil Sonoro was active only two years: 1956 and ’57. During that time they have released two career albums, out of which Músicas de Altamiro Carrilho (wrapped in a  spectacular cover) is the second, + two 78 rpms.

Their first album, Aventuras Em Ritmos Brasileiros (1956) a 10′ LP was published in another reality where you still may find it.

It’s really great happy Hammond sound! Slightly similar to Wilson das Neves’ “Juventude 2000” and other dancing music of that time. Almost all of the crew are real “Os Cobras”!

About the existence of Conjunto Bossa Jeca I knew nothing until I found this (only?) album they recorded (under this name at least) inside the latest package sent by Pedro & 300discos.

I still do not know much more about this conjunto, except that it was apparently led by Chiquinho do Acordeom who plays, besides his usual instrument, also organ and that the arrangements are by José Menezes.

All compositions were written by José Messias, who is also the author of the text on the back cover which is mainly about the musical style presented, but does not credit the instrumentalists nor the vocalists.

With due respect to texts about music in general, I sincerely believe that the best explanation possible about any musical style can be obtained in a simple, pleasant and unbeatable way: By listening to:
